Ardara Hillwalking Club

Our club, Ardara Hillwalking Club, aims to provide an enjoyable walking experience, not just in our base of the Slieve Blooms, but throughout the country. We welcome all walkers and we aim to provide a variety of walks that will delight all members. Check our News page for upcoming walks. New walk leaders would also be very welcome.

The club was founded in 2000 with the intention of bringing the joys of walking in the scenic Slieve Blooms to as many people as possible. We are based in Cadamstown, Co. Offaly and while most of our walks are in the Laois - Offaly area, it was one of the founding principles of our club that we would provide walks in all parts of Ireland and this we have done throughout the years.

Membership is open to anyone who enjoys walking and people can join on the day of a walk. The annual fee is €20 or €30 per family. We operate a WhatsApp alert system for members to remind them of upcoming walks and we provide a list of walks on the website also. You can also find us on facebook.

The club takes its name from the Ardara Bridge which spans the Silver River at Cadamstown. The bridge dates from the 16th century and is of great architectural importance. Work is ongoing on its preservation.
